Call for Papers

Public Policy Institute, Baku based think-tank announces call for policy briefs and policy studies.
Public Policy Institute (PPI) is a non-profit, non-partisan and independent policy think-tank initiative newly launched Azerbaijan, Baku, by a network of young Azerbaijanis educated abroad.
The rationale for the launch of the initiative derives from an assessment of needs for alternative policy information sources and a regular discussion platform for public institutions, international delegations, civil society, media and business community (herewith, referred to as the ‘policy stakeholders’) in Azerbaijan, as well as from a process of perusal of dynamically increasing demands and interests in the Azerbaijani society to think critically and systematically on a number of key policy questions in the country and to find potential and research-based solutions to them.

PPI publishes high quality policy briefs and articles on all aspects of economic, social and public policy in an international and local context. It places particular emphasis upon briefs and articles, which seek to contribute to debates on the future direction of public policy and to analyze issues in the designing and implementation of public policies. The papers must be practice- and policy-oriented and exclusively focus on Azerbaijan. But papers with comparative international perspectives with regard to Azerbaijan are also encouraged. The objective of the call are to draw attention of the policy and scholarly community of Azerbaijan to key policy issues, challenges and opportunities regarding the country and to promote innovative, high-quality papers clearly and precisely concentrated on key policy issues in a variety of thematic directions. Main analytical requirements for the papers are as follows: 1) analyze current state of affairs and clearly specify challenges; 2) discuss relevant international best practices and its relevance or feasibility for Azerbaijan; 3) outline key policy recommendations.
